Troubled American rapper DMX has filed for bankruptcy. DMX has been plagued with legal and financial woes for years now and it seems the situation has finally escalated beyond his control.
Earlier this week he was arrested for driving under the influence and now he has filed for bankruptcy, claiming that his assets are only valued at US$50 000 while he has a debt of between US$1million and US$10million.
His publicist released a statement with regards to the matter saying, “DMX’s financial strains have been inhibiting his career for several years. Poor financial management by prior representation have caused him to be ineligible to retain a passport.
The purpose of this bankruptcy filing is for reorganization so he can perform for his fans oversees. We are currently planning a tour in Europe and Africa for the fall of 2013.” DMX also reportedly owes US$1.24million in child support!
