Four people have died in a road traffic accident along the Great North Road in Mpika District.
Three others have been seriously injured and are admitted to Chilonga Mission Hospital in the same District.
The accident happened around 9-hours on Sunday, when the car they were travelling in hit into a stationary truck, killing two on the spot, while a third died at Hospital in the evening.
The dead have been identified as JOSEPH CHAKALASHI, RICHARD MUSAKANYA, and another one who has only been identified as MWABA.
Police suspect that the accident could have been caused by a drunk driver who is alleged to have been overspeeding. But the Driver survived the accident and is admitted to hospital too.
The Driver first rammed into a Toyota corolla and veered off and back onto the road, and later hit into a stationary truck, killing two on the spot.
Muchinga Province Deputy Police Commissioner Bonny Kapeso has confirmed the incident.
And Hospital Authorities in the area have confirmed receiving two accident victims, and say the driver is in stable condition.
