Last month (August) DJ Zinhle posted on her website a statement announcing that she and AKA (real name Kiernan Forbes) were no longer an item.
Her announcement came with no explanation as to why the relationship ended but insisted that the pair are on good terms and are commited to raising their nearly two-month-old daughter Kairo.
Zinhle’s statement:
“We both wish nothing but a great future for each other and remain dear and trusted friends as well as co-parents to our wonderful baby Kairo, whose happiness and well-being remains our number one priority.”
“There will be no further statements or interviews regarding our relationship as we choose to move on with our lives.”
Today (10 September) DJ Zinhle again took to her blog, this time to address allegations of a cheating AKA being the cause of their break up.
She cites the reason for breaking her silence to be “the continued public display of Kiernen and Bonang’s relationship as well as the commentary around it.”
In her blog post on her website ‘Moments By DJ Zinhle’ the thirty-one year old mother of one reveals that the affair between AKA and Bonang was confirmed by AKA to her a week before their daughter was born.
“A week before my daughter was born, I found out about an affair between Kiernan (the father of my child) and Bonang Matheba. I also received confirmation of all rumours through an honest conversationwith Kiernan, who confirmed that the affair had been going on for over 5 months.”
Her blog post, tilted “If I Fail or If I Succeed, At Least I Did As I Believe” centres around her definition of being a woman and how all of that has developed as she has grown. The post was met with a lot of support from fans of the female DJ who commended her courage in speaking out.
In a diss track titled “Exposure” which was leaked on Wednesday (9 September) AKA references their split in the line, “Fuck a fiancé, I got a little kid.”
The news quickly caught wind on social media and got some of the reactions. In the meantime, Bonang’s team have issued out a statement saying she is aware of the allegations and has her legal team dealing with it.
AKA’s team have vehemently denied any relationship between Bonang and AKA.
